Who we are
Silver Lining Care Ltd (company number 13072423) is responsible for the information you give us when you apply for a job. You can contact us about it at admin@silverliningcare.co.uk or on 07950 470569.
What we collect
When you apply through our website, we collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and postcode, and how you’d like us to contact you
- the role and hours you’re interested in, and your availability
- your experience, qualifications and what you tell us about yourself
- your employment and activity history, and what you were doing during any gaps
- your answers about your right to work in the UK, your driving licence, any DBS certificate you hold, time spent living or working abroad, Social Care Wales registration, and whether you’d like a confidential conversation about safeguarding
- the names and contact details of your referees
- your CV, your declarations and your typed signature
We don’t ask about criminal records on the application form. If we offer you a role, it will depend on an enhanced DBS check, which you apply for separately.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- consider your application and contact you about it
- arrange phone calls, interviews and assessments
- carry out the safer recruitment checks required for people working with children in Wales, such as checking your identity, right to work, employment history, references, qualifications and registration
- keep a record of our recruitment decisions
We use it because you’ve asked us to consider you for a job, because the law requires these checks before someone can work with children, and because we have a legitimate interest in recruiting the right people safely.
Who sees it
Your application is seen only by the people at Silver Lining Care involved in recruitment and in deciding on your application. It’s stored securely on our own website server and isn’t sold or shared for marketing.
We contact your referees only if we’d like to offer you a role. If you’re offered a role, some details will be shared with the organisations that help us complete your checks and pay you, such as the DBS application service we use and our payroll provider.
How long we keep it
If your application is unsuccessful, or you withdraw it, we delete it and your CV 6 months after the decision. If you join us, your application becomes part of your staff file and is kept in line with our records policy for employees.
Equal opportunities questions
After you apply, we invite you to answer some optional equal opportunities questions. Your answers are stored separately from your application, with only the month you answered. They aren’t linked to your name, email or application reference, and nobody deciding on your application sees them. We use them only to produce overall figures, and we don’t show a breakdown until there are enough responses that no one can be identified.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your information, or stop using it, in some circumstances
You can withdraw your application at any time by contacting us. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Our general privacy policy explains how we use information on the rest of our website.
